Welcome to Postpartum & Newborn Care Class at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford! This course provides a general overview of postpartum care for mom as well as newborn infant care. Some of the topics include: how you care for yourself physically & mentally for the first few weeks along with safe sleep, feedings, soothing and general infant care. We will practice hands-on skills including diapering, bathing and swaddling (you will be PROVIDED a baby doll and supplies for use during your class). A support person is encouraged to attend the class (No additional fee). The fee includes a booklet, handouts and your session with an in-person class with an instructor. Congratulations and we are excited to help you welcome your new bundle of joy!! We recommend taking this class when you are 32-36 weeks pregnant.
